We recently bought a smoker and of course we can’t help but smoke everything in sight. Not to mention that the weather is starting to get chillier so we definitely need to fit in as many smoking sessions slash BBQ moments as possible.
I’m not sure if it’s just me but everything just tastes that much better on the grill opposed to out of the oven. It must be the extra bit of char that comes with the grilling process. Not to mention everything also cooks faster on the grill so it’s really a great option. So I was extremely excited to partner with M&M Meats to try some of their delicious BBQ items and of course we put a couple of them on the smoker.
We’re extremely lucky to have a location right by our house and was amazed by the selection of BBQ items they have on hand and not just burgers but think different cuts of steak such as bacon wrapped filets, New York strip and top sirloins.
If you’re looking for something more traditional there are definitely many different burger selections or smokies. For those who want lighter, there’s shrimp skewers and marinated kabobs. It was hard to decide on what to get since there were so many options but we did finally decide on a bit of all the above!
We ended up getting a selection of steaks, New York Striploin and Top Sirloin. We also got some Spicy Italian Sausages, Herb and Garlic Shrimp Skewers and topped off with some Homestyle Apple Pie along with some Vanilla Supreme Ice Cream Bars for dessert! Quite the meal if I do say so myself.
We initially put the steaks on the BBQ and loved the caramelization on them however we did decide to cook the sausages and shrimp in the smoker and it worked out amazingly well! The bit of smoke really added a little something extra to the juicy shrimp. The marinade on them were extremely tasty. The sausages were also perfect for the smoker and worked well with or without a bun. I really liked how versatile the items were and there are so many different ways of cooking them. If you’re not in the BBQing mood you can always put them in the oven or cooking on the stovetop as well!
Although it’s starting to be a bit chillier outside we are trying our best to prolong the BBQ season and really crossing our fingers for a nice fall so we can enjoy the grill for a bit longer. Ok, I know we did get some snow but I’m not going to let that deter us until the stuff sticks on the ground (crossing my fingers that it doesn’t happen anytime soon). I think our next thing is to put the steaks in the smoker and I’m excited! Plus I can't wait to dig in to the apple pie and ice cream bars afterwards. Will post more photos soon!
